All casks should be kept in the correct storage facility Insurance that it is kept at the correct climate and stored within a HMRC bonded warehouse to not only make sure it’s stored correctly but also to make sure your cask is fully insured as well
If you’re investing into the irish market we advise a 2-4 years. However with the scotch market we advise a longer term hold of at least five years. Irish casks tend to get bottled a lot younger than scotch.
The minimum investment starts from £4000
As you can see there are a lot of whisky companies out there, and a lot of great ones at that! We cant promise we’re the best consultancy even though we would like to think so. The one thing we do try our best on is that we can price match any company that you speak to and also have one of the lowest commission rates in the industry.
When the time comes to exit, investors have several options: - Sell back to whisky brands. Distillers often ‘run short’ of stock - Sell to independent bottlers - Sell to other cask investors. Some may wish to leapfrog their way to older casks, others may wish to limit the supply of a certain variety - Place it in an auction, with a minimum reserve price - Bottle and brand the whisky as your own, then sell it on the retail market or simply enjoy it. For a quick sale, we can sell it client to client which would take a period of 5-14 working days
Upon becoming a client, you'll receive a receipt immediately after payment. Within a few weeks, you'll receive a certificate of ownership from the HMRC bonded warehouse or distillery warehouse, complete with a unique reference number for your cask. Additionally, we have strong relationships with distilleries, allowing you the opportunity to view your casks if desired.
